Western Neurosurgical Society
WINTER NEWSLETTER 2009
The AAA Four Diamond Sunriver Resort in Sunriver, Oregon awaits our September arrival for the 55th annual meeting of the Western. Pam and I recently visited the Resort and toured the facilities and we can report that they are simply superb. The venues for our registration, exhibitors, and our scientific meeting are side by side, in the Homestead complex. The hotel rooms are nearby, about a 5 minute walk or ride via a free resort shuttle. The rooms range in price from $200 for a Lodge Village Guestroom to $309 for Lodge Village Suite or $340 for a River Lodge Guestroom.
The social events will include an opening night reception and buffet at the Main Lodge Deck and our Formal Banquet in the resort’s Great Hall. Our Local’s Night will be held at the High Desert Museum and will feature some unique entertainment. For the golfers, tee times are being held at the Meadow’s and Woodland’s courses and for anyone arriving early or staying on after the meeting, we can also play the outstanding Crosswater course, an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. Tennis courts are nearby along with horseback riding, canoeing, and hiking or biking on 35 miles of trails. The Sage Springs Spa features all the amenities you would expect from this type of resort.
With the scientific program being planned, this is going to a meeting you should plan on attending. Don’t miss out and set aside the date, September 11-14, for the Western’s “Big 55” at Sunriver.
